Disney Magic Kingdom
Brought Disney Magic Kingdom to life through solid art direction
Year :
2025
Industry :
Video Games
Client :
Gameloft Entertainment
Project Duration :
2 years

Problem :
Disney Magic Kingdoms aimed to capture the wonder and nostalgia of the Disney theme parks within the limitations of a mobile platform. The problem was translating the scale, atmosphere, and emotional magic of an in-person park experience — where lighting, movement, and sound play huge roles — into a small, interactive screen without losing that sense of enchantment or visual clarity.

Solution :
As part of the design and art team, I contributed to environment painting, color scripting, and prop design that distilled Disney’s immersive magic into readable, joyful visuals. We emphasized iconic silhouettes, dynamic lighting cues, and vibrant palette transitions to mimic the feeling of moving through themed lands. By layering subtle animations and sparkle effects, we recreated the sense of motion and wonder that defines the Disney experience — even in static or isometric compositions.

Challenge :
The primary challenge was maintaining visual richness under strict technical constraints — optimizing for mobile performance while preserving detail, brand fidelity, and emotional impact. Every asset had to deliver immediate recognition and delight without overwhelming the small screen or straining device memory.
Summary :
Through thoughtful adaptation and strong visual storytelling, we helped Disney Magic Kingdoms transform the theme park experience into a portable, playable world. The result was a vibrant, accessible interpretation of Disney magic that resonated with players worldwide — proof that scale and spectacle can be reimagined through smart design and color-driven emotion.
